Loving people where they are with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Beliefs

  • We believe that the Bible is God’s Word to all men. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is literally “God-breathed”. It is the supreme source of truth and authority for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is absolute truth without any mixture of error. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 12:6 & 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5, II Peter 1:20-21)

  • We believe in one God. God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26-27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14)

  • We believe that God the Father loved the world enough to send the Son, Jesus Christ, as the Savior of the world. Anyone who knows the Father also knows the Son. Through a personal relationship with Christ, we come to know God as our Father and can say, “Abba Father.” (John 3:16; Galatians 3:26; 2 Corinthians 1:3; Ephesians 4:6-7)

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5 & 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; I Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13)

  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make humanity aware of their need for Jesus Christ and to convict the world of sin. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. The Christ-follower seeks to live under His control daily. (II Corinthians 3:17; John 14:16-17 & 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12 & 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18)

  • We believe that man is made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Created in His image and likeness of God, man intrinsically carries worth and value. Although created in the likeness of God, man is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. Sin is what separates man from God. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2)

  • We believe that God made man—male and female—in His own image, as the crown of creation, that man might have fellowship with Him. Tempted by Satan, man willfully rebelled against God. Being estranged from his Maker, yet responsible to Him, he became subject to divine wrath, inwardly depraved and, apart from a special work of grace, utterly incapable of returning to God. This depravity is radical and pervasive. It extends to his mind, will, and affections. Unregenerate man lives under the dominion of sin and Satan. He is at enmity with God, hostile toward God, and hateful of God. Fallen, sinful people, whatever their character or attainments, are lost and without hope apart from salvation in Christ. Thankfully, this is not the end of the story for us! (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:15-25; 3:6-7, 16-24; 6:5; Exodus 20:1-21; Judges 21:25; Psalm 51:1-4; 143:2; Isaiah 43:7; Isaiah 64:6; John 3:1-18; Romans 1:18-23; 3:9-20; 5:18-19; 6:16-23; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 2:1-10; Colossians 3:1-11; James 1:13-15; 3:1-12; 4:1-12; 1 John 1:8-10; Revelation 20:11-15)

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the Gospel. The good news is revealed in His birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension. Christ’s crucifixion is the heart of the gospel, His resurrection is the power of the gospel, and His ascension is the glory of the gospel. Christ’s death is a substitutionary and propitiatory sacrifice to God for our sins. It satisfies the demands of God’s holy justice and appeases His holy wrath. It also demonstrates His mysterious love and reveals His amazing grace. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man. There is no other name by which men must be saved. At the heart of all sound doctrine is the cross of Jesus Christ and the infinite privilege that redeemed sinners have of glorifying God because of what He has accomplished on our behalf- in our place condemned He stood. Therefore, we want all that takes place in our hearts, church, and ministries to proceed from and be related to the cross. (Genesis 3:15; Deuteronomy 30:1-10; Zephaniah 3:17-18; Luke 23-24; John 3:16-21; 5:19-46; 10:1-18; 14:6; 20:30-31; Romans 1:16-18; 3:21-26; 5:1-21; 6:1-23; 8:1-39; 9:1-29; 10:9- 10; 1 Corinthians 15:1-28, 50-58; 2 Corinthians 3:12-5:21; Galatians 3:13; Ephesians 1:3-14; 2:1-10; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Timothy 1:12-17; 2:5; 3:14-16; 2 Timothy 1:3-18; Hebrews 9; Jude 24-25; Revelation 19-22)

  • Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his or her life by faith. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12 & 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1)

  • Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is to spend eternity in Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. (John 3:16; I John 2:25 & 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15)

  • We believe in the local church as a part of the universal Body of Christ. It is to be a witness in its local community and extend to the whole world. The local church provides an avenue for the proper use of spiritual gifts and the observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Matthew 28:19-20; I Corinthians 12-14; I Corinthians 11:27-29; Ephesians 4:11-16)

  • The Word of God places on the church two perpetual ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ. The first, believer’s baptism, is the outward sign of what God has already done in the individual’s life and is a testimony to all that the person now belongs to Jesus Christ. It is identification with Jesus and is affected in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The second, the Lord’s Supper, is a commemoration of the death of the Lord and is done in remembrance of Him until He comes again; it is a sign of our loving participation in Him. Both institutions are restricted to those who are believers. (1 Cor. 11:17-34; Matthew 3:6; Acts 8:26-40)

  • We believe that God has commanded that no sexual activity take place outside of a Scriptural marriage. (Gen. 2:24; Gen 19:5-13;Gen. 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1:26-29; 1 Cor. 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4)

We believe that the only Scriptural marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2; 1 Cor. 7:10; Ephesians 5:22-23)

Our Values

  • The Gospel isn’t merely the ABC’s of Christianity; it is the sum and substance of everything the Bible has to say from Genesis to Revelation. The entire Bible speaks to the person and work of Christ. Our goal is discerning how the person and work of Christ informs all of life.

  • Biblical community begins with sharing common life in Christ. We want to share our lives in genuine relationship with each other. We are the Church; we don’t just “go” to church. As the Church, we want to prioritize living life on life together throughout the week as well as gathering on Sunday mornings. We want to invite people to be a part of our community, investing in others through redemptive relationships. Saved from our sin, we have also been saved into a family!

  • Christianity is a faith of content. At Pine Hills Auburn we want to grow together in Christ as we learn about our faith as we seek to follow the commands that Paul gives us, to entrust the message of the Gospel of Christ to faithful men who will, in turn, teach others also (2 Timothy 2:1-2). As we seek to disciple others around us, we take seriously the call the empower and equip leaders for all aspects of ministry service.

  • All Christians are missionaries, regardless of whether we serve in Uganda, our backyards, neighborhoods, or at our workplace. We are God’s people on mission, and He has sovereignly placed us where He has so that we can be salt and light. As we have been saved from our sin and saved into a family, we have been saved for a purpose- God’s mission to reconcile people to Himself.
